I recently got an amazing Super Juice booster from our dear Miski Organics Super Box Collection. On this box I found  4 of the most amazing superfoods to fight winter blah’s and to keep our sugar level, weight, and energy levels in check during the holidays.

But first, let’s talk about the benefits of these 4 products before I give you 4 quick smoothie recipes to enrich your morning and days during this busy time of the year.

SACHA INCHI POWDER: Might just be my official smoothie companion on 2020. It has the highest levels of Omega 3’s n the world. Sacha Inchi makes a great way for vegans and vegetarians to load up on fatty acids.

MESQUITE POWDER: Made from the pods of the Mesquite tree which grows in the Northern dessert coast of Peru. Also known as Carob, Mesquite has been used for centuries due to its multiple benefits  including its low glycemic index. Mesquite has a sweet caramel nutty flavour that is perfect to add to smoothies or, hot drinks. Great option for an extra sweet delight during cold days.

YELLOW MACA POWDER:  Maca root can be found in yellow, red, and black pigments. Each pigment has a special nutritious component.  Yellow Maca, for example, is known to alleviate post menopausal effects as it regenerates estrogen deficiencies in the body. At the same time, it stimulates libido and is known to increase energy levels and to help us become more enthusiastic about life.

TARA PROTEIN POWDER: With superior levels of protein and dietary fibre, Tara is one great addition to our winter smoothies. It contains important amino acids the body needs to function properly. This plant is located in the mountain range of Peru reaching a size of between 2 to 5 meters in height. It has been used for centuries in ancient Andean communities.

I’ve created 4 smoothies to help you get a taste of this 4 amazing Peruvian Superfoods.

I hope you make time for self-care these holidays. Self-care starts with morning rituals.. with embracing our happiness.. with cherishing our bodies and with loving our diets…. It all comes back to knowing when to keep going and to knowing when to stop.

I want to leave today with an inspirational quote about self-care by Arianna Huffington:

“In the end, if we don’t take care of ourselves, if we don’t stop being burned out ourselves, we will keep burning out the planet. Personal sustainability is connected to planetary sustainability.”

So there, I wish you lots of self-care… AND BIG SELF-LOVE TO PREPARE FOR 2020!

Yours truly,

Alexandra England
